Paris! Mon amour.

This weekend I was in Paris with my fiancé – a fast and fabulous 48-hour romantic getaway.

It’s truly surprising how much you can achieve in 48 hours. Here’s a rough recap of what we did the first 24 hours…

We arrived in Paris Saturday morning around 12 pm at our hotel Le Pigalle situated in arrondissement 9, an area I wasn’t to familiar with until this weekend.

We quickly checked in so we could get some much needed lunch. I had researched in advance (as I always do) and further down the street from the hotel we found a cosy spot in the bar at Buvette. I love their New York place, but I must say their Paris edition is even more charming. I got the chicken salad while Nick Philip got the croque-monsieur.

After lunch we walked to the 1st. arrondissement where all the high-end shops are located. I took a quick peek at Chanel on Rue Cambon, but reminded myself that what I ‘really’ need is a large shopper not another chain bag… So we went to Goyard and bought a large tote instead – so now I can check that of my wish list 🙂

From Saint Honoré we walked to Palais de Royal only to find a long line at Kitsuné – a cute little coffee shop. So I convinced NP to walk another 30min. to Marais (3rd arrondissement) for coffee and cake at Café Charlot. A Marais classic!

Back at Le Pigalle we chilled in our lovely hotel room for a bit before getting ready to go out. We started in the lobby with a little aperitif and some cheese and charcuterie. Delicious. Even if you’re not staying at Le Pigalle I can recommend coming here for the atmosphere, interior and burrata in the bar/restaurant area.

Knowing that we would be tired after a long day I had reserved a table just around the corner from the hotel at a newly opened restaurant Maison Laurec. I was dazzeled by the cool interior with lot’s of green plants complimenting the glowing gold and yellow gemstone colors. The food was also a good experience.

After dinner we went straight to our room. Stay tuned for day deux…
