I love my morning coffee and have a whole cup collection to prove it…
Every cup is really special to me, because they all represent or remind me of someone or somewhere.
From left to right:
The marble looking cup reminds be of my first trip to San Francisco where I visited my friend Anaïs who had just moved there. I bought the cup at The Mill – a cosy bakery and coffee shop you can read about here.
The round brown and blue ceramic cup is also from California, from Nick Philip’s and my love trip. We bought it at Big Sur Bakery where we made a pit shop during our road trip from L.A. to San Francisco. It’s my favourite cup of the bunch and it reminds me of the best vacation of my life (he proposed)!
The glazed brown cup without a handle is from my favourite ceramist Henriette Lyngfeldt. It reminds me of the first time I took Nick Philip with me to her wonderful workshop north of Copenhagen – you can read about the place here. Luckily he liked her things as much as I do (phew!) and we got this cup among many other things.
The last black ceramic cup is from my high school friend Nanna. She also gave it to me for my 30th birthday and it’s the cup I use when I’m really in the mood for a large cup of coffee, like monday mornings!
It’s funny, I used to only collect tableware that matched, but as I get older I’m much more into the stories and memories behind every piece. It makes me smile 🙂
